James Pham

I teach music and English at Gymnasium Meiendorf in Hamburg, where I lead the orchestra and a songwriting project course.

Previously, I led string orchestra, guitar ensemble, jazz ensemble, musicals, general music, concert planning, and music department budgeting at Senri-Osaka International Schools of Kwansei Gakuin in Japan.

At WABE International School, I taught music across grades 3–12, conducted a string orchestra, led a rock/pop band, and directed musical performances and projects. My work centers on intercultural music education and ensemble practice with diverse school and community groups in Germany, Japan, and the United States.

I've also sung with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra and worked as a guest and assistant conductor with youth, school, and community orchestras across the United States. I bring training in music education and conducting, alongside native English and Vietnamese and C1 German.
