Indra Tamang

I’m a Java team lead building large-scale, multi-tenant education platforms, and I focus on turning sound architecture into reliable delivery. I drive technical direction through code reviews, architectural decisions, and mentoring junior engineers, while staying tightly aligned with product managers and stakeholders.

In my current role at ING Tech (Nov 2025–Present), I designed and implemented Modulith, microservices, and clean/hexagonal architectures. I also implemented Keycloak-based SSO with a custom authorization server for fine-grained access control, and built centralized cloud configuration integrated with vault for secure secret handling.

Previously, as a Software Engineer (Jun 2023–Nov 2025) at Islington College/ING Consulting, I led the backend team after the previous team lead’s resignation. I introduced Domain-Driven Design, improved Git branching and release strategies, refactored inefficient code to improve modularity/readability/performance, and experimented with queue mechanisms using RabbitMQ to support multi-tenancy.

Earlier, I developed REST APIs and server-rendered UI components using Spring Boot and Thymeleaf (Java Developer Intern/Trainee, May 2022–Jun 2023). I integrated Elasticsearch for better search performance, built complex database logic with JPA and QueryDSL, and strengthened my data foundations through a Data Specialist role (Sep 2021–Jul 2022) preparing high-quality datasets for AI and automation projects. I hold a First Class Honors BSc (Hons) from London Metropolitan University, and I’ve also worked on projects like music genre classification and plant leaf disease classification.
