Himalsha Jayamal

I am an early-career Electrical & Electronic Engineer currently pursuing a BEng (Hons) at the University of Sunderland, with six months of industrial engineering experience at Hayleys Fabric PLC.

During my industrial training, I supported installation, commissioning, electrical wiring, sensor connections and calibration, VFD configuration, motor-control systems, instrumentation, pneumatics, and preventive maintenance. I also analysed Stenter-machine production data in Excel, contributing to an increase in production speed from 16 to 22 m/min and an approximately 5°C reduction in operating temperature.

My technical interests include embedded systems, RTL/FPGA design, digital systems, industrial automation, robotics, engineering simulation, and hardware verification. I work with SystemVerilog, Vivado XSim, Embedded C/C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, PIC, Arduino, ROS 2, Gazebo, RTAB-Map, and YOLO.

I am currently developing an adaptive cache controller for a custom 8-bit processor in SystemVerilog and have also worked on autonomous robotics, embedded-control, FPGA, automation, and engineering-analysis projects.
