Gabriel Castaneda

I’m a recent college graduate with hands-on experience in maintenance support and security operations. Across my roles, I focus on safety, cleanliness, and following procedures to keep facilities running smoothly and reliably.

In my current work as a Maintenance Trainee with Mash Maintenance, I use hand tools and power equipment to clean grounds, assemble and reconfigure office furniture and partitions, and adjust work to match specifications for different products and work orders. I minimize injury risks by following safe lifting and handling practices and support day-to-day facility readiness through careful, consistent upkeep.

Earlier, I worked as a Seasonal Maintenance Aid with the California Department of Parks and Recreation. I performed routine repairs and inspections, operated equipment such as mowers, tractors, chain-saws, and sod cutters, and helped install water systems for polo grounds and a golf course. I also became familiar with fire clearance regulations and procedures to support safe, compliant park operations.

Before that, I served as a Security Guard with Executive Management Security, where I checked identification, responded to incidents, and assessed active situations for security concerns. Alongside this, I build communication and service habits through professional guest greetings and community-focused volunteering, and I apply my research foundation from my Environmental Science degree to support data-driven decision-making.
