Backend Java Engineer designing high-performance event-driven microservices with strong observability and reliability practices.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Backend Java Engineer with an MSc in Computer Science and a strong foundation in software engineering. I design, optimize, and maintain high-performance, event-driven microservices while focusing on reliability and code quality.
At ShuffleUp (remote), I take ownership of core backend components for iGaming applications—leading feature design, technical discussions, and ongoing maintenance. I improved API response times by up to 90% using Redis caching, parallelization, PostgreSQL query optimization, and batch processing.
I build and scale robust event-driven microservices with Java 21, Spring Boot 3, and Apache Kafka, including reactive, non-blocking services using Spring WebFlux and Project Reactor. I also strengthen delivery and stability through comprehensive unit and integration testing, plus code review and mentoring.
I manage cloud deployments and CI/CD pipelines with Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, ArgoCD, and GitLab CI/CD, and I resolve live incidents during on-call rotations using the Grafana Suite for deep observability. Earlier roles strengthened my backend development with Spring and service integration, and helped me evolve an observability platform and improve its CI/CD and test coverage.
