Facundo Vitullo

I'm completing a Physics degree at UNC's FaMAF while building computational models for radiation transport and medical imaging. My undergraduate thesis reconstructs a 3D voxel model of an adult rat from micro-CT data for particle transport code integration.

Using FLUKA, MATLAB, FLAIR, and PyDICOM, I've audited and modified DICOM metadata and run Monte Carlo simulations to quantify radiation dose enhancement from gold nanoparticles across regions of interest. I've also implemented physical corrections in Python for x-ray measurements from an AMPTEK CdTe detector.

In data work, I built an end-to-end movie revenue prediction project: extracting, cleaning, and normalizing relational data with SQL and Python, performing exploratory analysis and correlation testing, and presenting results in Power BI. Through Codo a Codo, I also delivered SQL schema design, data processing, Python analysis, and Looker dashboards.

I've supported STEM students as an Academic Tutor at LatinHire and worked as a Data Curator at Veeva Systems, correcting health-system data in a large database. I'm looking to bring scientific computing and data science together for medical diagnostics and tumor detection.
