Erin Schermetzler

At Manitowoc County Human Services Department, I provide comprehensive mental health crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization for people experiencing mental health and substance use emergencies.

I conduct crisis evaluations, coordinate voluntary and involuntary psychiatric placements, and maintain confidential clinical records in line with state regulations and program standards. I work closely with law enforcement, hospitals, emergency departments, residential facilities, and community agencies to support continuity of care.

My work is grounded in compassionate, person-centered support, advocating for each client’s safety, dignity, and access to appropriate care.

My background also includes mentoring middle-school students, supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities at Ascend Services, and providing long-term childcare. I bring psychology studies, CPR/AED and First Aid training, Microsoft Office skills, and IBM SPSS Statistics certification to my work.
