Ellie Gevers

I’m a computer science graduate with hands-on experience building data-driven solutions using SQL and Python. I enjoy using data to solve problems and improve performance, especially when I can communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

As an Undergraduate Research Assistant, I designed and implemented an automated database prototype for educational technologies. I built a SQL database using PostgreSQL to organize collected data, used web crawling to gather information, and developed an AI filtering system to retrieve and classify relevant technologies.

In addition, I created a tagging system through multiple rounds of academic research to help end users discover technologies aligned with instructional goals. In my Capstone Project (BearTRAK), I updated and expanded the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries’ bear tracking application, acted as project manager and communications liaison for a team of 4, used an Agile framework to track progress, and upgraded the application’s underlying framework to a newer, more secure version.
