Eli Renner

I’m an Ecology & Evolutionary Biology graduate with a 4.0 GPA and deep training in ecological research, wildlife conservation, and laboratory techniques. I focus on turning field observations into reliable ecological insights through careful sample preparation and analysis.

In my current role as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the UTK EEPS Department, I conduct freshwater mussel field research and ecological surveys. I collect environmental data, assess water quality conditions, and process biological samples using established laboratory protocols.

I also bring strong public-facing and educational experience from serving as a Visitor Services Associate at the McClung Museum of Natural History & Culture. I manage daily operations and public safety while developing educational activities, interpretive experiences, and support for events, tours, and outreach initiatives.

To complement my research and science communication work, I’ve provided biology tutoring and facility/customer service as Biology Tutor & Wellness Center staff, and I supported veterinary care as an Assistant Veterinary Technician. I’m energized by work that blends field methods, data visualization, and clear communication with leadership and project coordination.
