Eli Bashwinger

PhD mathematician transitioning into data science with strong analytical skills.
What I'm looking for
I am a PhD mathematician with a strong foundation in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and abstract reasoning. My ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, both in written and verbal form, has been honed through teaching, presenting my research at various conferences, and writing for mathematics journals. These skills align well with the demands of Data Science, and I am eager to apply them in a new context.
To support my transition into Data Science, I am refreshing and expanding my technical skillset through coursework on DataCamp in Python and SQL. My mathematical expertise, combined with my growing proficiency in coding and data analysis, equips me to contribute meaningfully to data-driven projects. I am a quick learner, adaptable, and highly motivated to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
I am passionate about applying mathematical rigor and analytical thinking to solve real-world problems and support data-driven decision-making. My recent experiences as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Graduate Teaching Assistant have further developed my skills in mentoring and translating abstract topics into accessible content for students.
