David Kumu

As a second-year Computer Science student at the University of the Witwatersrand, I have developed a strong foundation in software development, algorithms, and cloud computing. My active involvement in the university's Developer Society and the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Club has provided me with practical experience in coding, system design, and cloud technologies. I am particularly enthusiastic about crafting scalable applications and tackling complex problems, and I am eager to contribute to innovative tech solutions.

During my internship at Amazon in Cape Town, I collaborated with experienced cross-disciplinary teams to design and bring to market innovative products and services. I had the opportunity to create solutions for running predictions on distributed systems, gaining exposure to cutting-edge technologies at incredible scale and speed. My experience in building distributed storage, index, and query systems has equipped me with the skills to develop scalable, fault-tolerant, and low-cost solutions while working in an agile environment.
