What I'm looking for

I'm looking to apply GIS, remote sensing, field monitoring, and landslide-hazard expertise to disaster-risk reduction, geospatial analysis, and environmental consultancy work, with opportunities to deliver practical technical solutions and build capacity.

I've delivered landslide-risk mapping and disaster-prevention work for Kokusai Kogyo in Tokyo, supporting JICA projects in Honduras and India and LiDAR-based assessments for Japanese expressway networks.

I combine field investigation, geomorphology, GIS, remote sensing, and automated geospatial workflows to analyse slope hazards. My work has included hazard inventories, multi-hazard maps, landslide susceptibility modelling, ArcGIS/QGIS manuals, and GIS training for government counterparts.

At Kyoto University, I led research into bedrock groundwater, runoff, deep-seated landslides, and hillslope water storage while operating long-term geotechnical and hydrological monitoring networks. I have also mentored graduate students in field observation, instrumentation, and data interpretation.

Most recently at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, I've studied debris-flow sediment routing in the northern Apennines using D-CASCADE, field surveys, GIS, numerical modelling, drone orthophotography, and Python-based grain-size analysis. I'm a published engineering geologist and GIS specialist who brings technical reporting, capacity building, and practical geospatial analysis to complex hazard challenges.
