Chukwuma Ejekute-Obi
@chukwumaejekute-obi
Entry-level cybersecurity analyst focused on SIEM investigations, vulnerability assessment, and secure access.
What I'm looking for
I’m an entry-level cybersecurity analyst with hands-on experience in security monitoring, vulnerability assessment, and SIEM investigations across network and cloud environments.
I’ve built practical security capabilities through IAM and MFA work in a simulated financial platform, plus an Azure Sentinel brute-force detection simulation using PowerShell and KQL. These efforts strengthened threat detection and helped improve triage and investigation readiness.
In assessment and remediation work, I conducted a Windows security assessment of RDP access—reviewing TCP/IP configurations, firewall settings, and Microsoft Defender controls with Wireshark and Azure—and documented hardening recommendations. I also supported vulnerability management processes and continuous monitoring by collaborating with IT teams.
I bring additional depth from malware analysis and defensive training, including integrating VirusTotal API scanning and process analysis into a GUI dashboard for SOC-style triage. I also pursue secure software development through hands-on web attack lab work (like XSS) and incident-response-focused learning to support stronger security outcomes.
Experience
Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
Completed SOC analyst defensive training using Nmap and Searchsploit for vulnerability assessment and traffic analysis, with focus on alert triage, log analysis, and incident-response techniques. Delivered cybersecurity training modules and led outreach sessions to share best practices for intrusion detection and incident response.
Network & Windows RDP Assessment
UNT Research Facility
Jan 2026 - May 2026 (4 months)
Conducted a Windows security assessment of RDP access, reviewing TCP/IP configuration, firewall settings, and Microsoft Defender controls using Wireshark and Azure. Identified remote access risks and endpoint misconfigurations and documented hardening recommendations, then tracked remediation through vulnerability management.
Infection Point Malware Scanner GUI
UNT Research Facility
Jul 2025 - May 2026 (10 months)
Contributed to a C++ malware scanner by integrating VirusTotal API scanning and PID Screamer process analysis into a GUI dashboard. Documented compliance artifacts and detection metrics to support SOC-style malware triage and continuous vulnerability assessment.
Pixhawk-2.4.8 Hacking Project
UNT
May 2025 - Jul 2025 (2 months)
Extracted firmware from Pixhawk flight controller hardware using SPI flashing tools and analyzed the binary with IDA Pro and Binary Ninja to uncover vulnerabilities and attack vectors. Performed risk assessments and threat analysis on embedded systems and recommended safeguards to prevent unauthorized access.
Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) Attack Lab
Self Study
Jan 2025 - Jun 2025 (5 months)
Designed a controlled XSS attack lab on Kali Linux using a Python HTTP server and Wireshark to deliver malicious JavaScript payloads and monitor request traffic. Conducted security audits on web application configurations and documented exposure such as session-cookie exfiltration and weaknesses identified via static binary analysis.
Azure Windows SIEM Tool
UNT Research Facility
Jan 2024 - Oct 2024 (9 months)
Built a brute-force simulation in Azure Sentinel using PowerShell and KQL to test Windows SIEM detection capabilities. Monitored authentication activity, flagged suspicious events, assigned severity levels, and refined SIEM policies and alert workflows.
Applied IAM and MFA concepts in a simulated financial environment to protect customer accounts and reduce phishing risk. Supported security assessments by auditing simulated environments and compiling NIST compliance documentation.
