At OCOM, I work as a Professor, drawing on my background in biomedical science and health education. My work centers on advancing education and research in health and disease, particularly infectious diseases, drug discovery, and bioinformatics.
At AdventHealth University, I served as Director of the Biomedical Science Program and as Vice Chair of the Department of Health and Biomedical Science. I led the development and implementation of interdisciplinary curricula, courses, and programs for students preparing for biomedical and health professions.
My research uses molecular and computational methods to characterize gene function and identify compounds for structure-based drug design. At University of South Florida, I investigated the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum, including gene expression related to parasite development and pathogenesis.
My work has resulted in peer-reviewed publications and a provisional patent application, and I received a Ruth L. Kirschstein Fellowship for malaria research. I collaborate with researchers and institutions to advance biomedical science and contribute to global health through education and research.
