Chima Okira

I am an Environmental Engineering student with hands-on research experience in bioinformatics and molecular modeling, focused on natural antimicrobial agents. I combined academic training with practical lab-adjacent computational work during an internship at a national research institute.

During a research internship at the National Institute of Agronomic Research (INRA) in Marrakech, I conducted an in silico study of essential oils, applying molecular docking and bioinformatics tools to evaluate antibacterial and antifungal activity. This work contributed to research on natural alternatives to synthetic antimicrobials.

I also contributed to student leadership and administration as Certificate Coordinator for the Sustainable Development Club at ESTE, managing certificates, participant lists, and event coordination. My coursework spans applied computer science and environmental technology.

I bring technical skills in programming (C++, Python), GIS (QGIS, ArcGIS), molecular modeling tools (PyRx, AutoDockTools, Discovery Studio), and design and office software. I am motivated to apply computational and geospatial methods to environmental research and sustainable solutions.
