Cheryl Chigwanda

I’m a motivated BSc Actuarial and Financial Mathematics student at the University of Pretoria (graduating May 2026), with a strong mathematical and statistical foundation. I’m passionate about turning analysis into practical decisions by combining programming and actuarial thinking.

Through my internships and projects, I’ve built experience in actuarial support and financial data review. At Southern Cotton Company, I assisted in correcting financial information and supporting accurate data entry in accounting systems, helping improve the accuracy of financial records for reporting.

At Virtual Advisory Group (Virtual Insurance), I reviewed actuarial documents, validated data accuracy, and supported preparation of Excel-based models and actuarial reports. I’ve also participated in the Actuaries in the Making (AIM) Asset-Liability Matching Exercise for ABSA, applying asset-liability matching and risk management techniques in a professional setting.

I’m resilient, adaptable, and eager to contribute in dynamic environments while pursuing professional actuarial qualifications. I bring leadership experience from being a class representative and student mentor, and I’m known for proactive teamwork, attention to detail, and clear communication of complex ideas.
