PhD candidate in physical chemistry, designing bio-inspired optical thin films.
What I'm looking for
I’m a PhD Candidate in Physical Chemistry, working on the design and fabrication of helicalmultilayer thin films from unicate cellulosenanocrystals using grazing incidence spraying combined with layer-by-layer assembly. My goal is to tailor optical responses such as selective optical filtering of circularly polarized light.
To understand and optimize structure–property relationships, I characterize films with Mueller Matrix spectroscopic ellipsometry, circular dichroism, and UV-Vis spectroscopy, supported by AFM and TEM for nanoscale structure analysis. In my Master’s Thesis, I focused on fabricating bio-inspired multilayer thin films from sustainable materials, and I aimed to control assembly conditions, composition, and structure—especially to study mechanical properties.
Before my graduate research, I gained hands-on engineering experience through internships in production and process engineering at manufacturing and chemical production sites. I tracked quantitative data and equipment efficiencies, addressed minor stoppages by assisting root-cause identification, and contributed to documentation, while also performing analyses in the chlorine laboratory using titrimetric, gravimetric, and spectroscopic methods.

Designed and fabricated helical multilayer thin films using grazing incidence spraying and layer-by-layer assembly to tailor optical responses for circularly polarized light. Characterizes films with Mueller matrix spectroscopic ellipsometry, circular dichroism, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and nanoscale structure analysis (AFM, TEM).
Master’s Thesis Intern
CNRS – Institut Charles Sadron
Feb 2024 - Aug 2024 (6 months)
Fabricated bio-inspired multilayer thin films from sustainable materials within PECMAT, focusing on controlling assembly conditions, composition, and structure. Investigated structure–property relationships, with emphasis on mechanical properties.
Supported the production department at Sanofi’s manufacturing site by tracking quantitative data and equipment efficiencies for production lines. Conducted analyses for minor stoppages to assist with root-cause identification and managed documentation for manufacturing and production reports and SOPs.
Process Engineering Intern
Koruma KlorAlkali San. & Tic. A.Ş.
Worked with process engineers in a chemical production facility and gained experience producing chemicals including acetic acid, ferric chloride solution, and caustic soda. Performed chlorine laboratory analyses of raw materials, products, and intermediate flows using titrimetric, gravimetric, and spectroscopic methods.
