Caroline Stearman
@carolinestearman
Registered nurse and IBCLC helping NICU families with breastfeeding support through evidence-based lactation care.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Registered Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), currently providing lactation management in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. In my role, I support NICU parents throughout admission by pairing compassionate guidance with clinical assessment and treatment.
I bring hands-on neonatal experience across high-risk settings, including NICU education responsibilities and the Special Care Nursery (Level 2+). I care for preterm infants, assist with high-risk deliveries, and perform essential newborn skills such as blood work, NG/OG tube care, IV medication, and phototherapy.
I’m certified in BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and I’ve earned S.T.A.B.L.E. certification to strengthen bedside readiness. I also take pride in education—supporting families with discharge expectations and training NICU staff on lactation-related practices.
Earlier in my career, I completed the New Graduate Nurse Residency Program and built an evidence-based postpartum project. I’m driven by outcomes: swiftly identifying concerns (like hemorrhage, hypertension, or infections), partnering with providers to stabilize patients, and helping mothers successfully breastfeed.
