As the lead designer for the group of brands under Travelstart, I was the custodian of the brand’s visual integrity and upheld a high standard of creative output from my design team. I was actively involved in high-level campaigns and media pitches and worked closely with the Content team lead and Campaign Manager to ensure comprehensive campaigns were active at all times.

As group head of the creative team, I oversaw and mentored two junior two team members. My team worked closely with the social media team to collaborate on content calendars and campaign strategies for several brands, including Mondelez SA, Pizza Hut Tanzania, Lafarge/Binastore, NAC Helicopters, Project Dignity, Jose Cuervo Tequila, Durex & Veet.

I worked with a team of seven art directors and two copywriters as the senior digital art director for the Africa division, supplying creative for Shoprite’s African stores in Nigeria, Zambia, Angola & Mozambique. Responsibilities included client pitches, mentoring junior art directors and advising on creative direction, as well as conceptualizing new ways to engage with the emerging market.

Together with a creative team of seven designers, I worked to strict deadlines and was responsible for maintaining high creative standards and following the brand guidelines. I was responsible for email, onsite and online campaigns as well as competition campaigns for Facebook and Twitter. I also worked with studios like Warner Brothers, Universal, Sony & Apple.
