Accountant with 20+ years leading GAAP-compliant reporting, payroll, and team optimization.
What I'm looking for
I’m a seasoned accountant with 20+ years of progressive leadership in accounting and financial operations, focused on accuracy, compliance, and measurable process improvement. I align financial strategy with organizational goals while maintaining high standards of ethical conduct and transparency.
In my current role as Senior Accountant for one of the Meridian family of companies, I own end-to-end financial reporting and manage payroll for 500 employees across 18 states. I ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations, garnishments, and benefits contributions, while partnering with AR to protect revenue integrity, sales tax accuracy, and exception handling.
I’m strong across month-end close and audit readiness, including GAAP-based balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries for revenue recognition and PTO accruals, and validation of sales tax data using Avalara. I also serve as a liaison with external auditors and tax professionals, preparing documentation for audits and regulatory inquiries.
Previously, as Financial Accounting Lead and Staff Accountant, I drove early-stage financial process setup during acquisitions and led transitions such as moving payroll to ADP and supporting an ERP migration across billing, accounting, and equity management. I’ve trained and led junior team members and improved onboarding, and I continue to apply system thinking—using tools like NetSuite scripting and Excel automation—to reduce cycle times and strengthen internal controls.
