Bethwell Cheruiyot

I am an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over five years of experience in legal research, drafting and litigation support, including four years of remote work for United States clients.

Between 2021 and 2024 I drafted court documents for self-represented litigants across several US jurisdictions, including California — pleadings, answers, motions and declarations in housing and landlord and tenant matters, family law, and consumer debt and collections, working to each state's civil procedure requirements and filing rules. In 2025 I worked remotely as a paralegal for Cormican Law PLLC in Boerne, Texas, on business formation, commercial contracts, corporate records, M&A due diligence, USPTO trade mark clearance and applications, and federal tax exemption filings under IRS Forms 1023 and 1023-EZ.

I am a partner at Cheruiyot Lagat & Partners Advocates in Kapsabet, where I conduct land, succession, civil, criminal and small claims matters and draft the pleadings, applications, affidavits and written submissions myself. I hold an LL.B. from Moi University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and I am reading for an LL.M. in Intellectual Property and ICT Law.

I work independently and asynchronously, and I am available on an independent contractor basis.
