Asrith Miyapuram
@asrithmiyapuram
Senior software engineer specializing in distributed systems, scalable services, and smart-home platforms.
What I'm looking for
I am a senior software engineer focused on designing and building scalable, reliable distributed systems for consumer platforms. At Amazon I led the design and implementation of large-scale microservices and GraphQL APIs that serve millions of Alexa users while improving scalability and reducing downstream traffic.
I have delivered region-agnostic infrastructure and traffic-shift tooling to enable safe AWS region migrations, reduce operational cost, and lower migration risk for developer teams. I also architected event-driven integrations that removed feedback cycles and materially reduced high-severity incidents.
On the Alexa Smart Home front, I built a no-code, device-agnostic UI framework and unified controller payloads to accelerate releases and improve performance across multimodal devices. My work drove measurable engagement gains, lowered latency and resource usage, and earned Operational Excellence recognition.
Earlier, I contributed to autonomous driving perception and localization systems, developing robust sensor-fusion pipelines and Bayesian approaches to improve situational awareness and object detection accuracy. I combine strong systems thinking with hands-on coding in Java, Python, React Native, and cloud-native AWS architectures.
Experience
Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
Built AlexaHomeModesService to persist and execute home-mode routines for millions of users, reducing downstream endpoint traffic and improving scalability; architected region-agnostic migration infrastructure (ASHES) that cut migration effort and latency while lowering operational cost.
Delivered multimodal Alexa Smart Home flows for 3M+ customers, unified controller payloads to reduce system complexity 6×, improved Echo Hub performance and cut polling CPU usage saving $500K/month; integrated proactive event updates and authored ops best practices.
