Artem N
@artemkoren
Biochemistry graduate with protein research experience at the John Innes Centre, purifying recombinant proteins using ÄKTA FPLC chromatography.
What I'm looking for
At John Innes Centre, I worked on the RNA-binding activity and characterisation of chloroplast translation factor HCF173 in Arabidopsis thaliana. I prepared reagents and buffers, managed laboratory stocks, and calibrated instruments in line with COSHH and laboratory safety requirements.
I performed recombinant protein expression and multi-step downstream purification using ÄKTA liquid chromatography, including IMAC, Heparin affinity, and SEC. I analysed chromatograms and biochemical datasets using absorbance spectroscopy to assess protein yield, purity profiles, and structural stability.
I maintained real-time experimental records, raw data, and analytical logs in Benchling ELN to support traceability and reproducibility. My laboratory methods include SDS-PAGE, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, protein quantification, and plate-based assays.
After completing my BSc in Biochemistry at the University of East Anglia, I'm seeking an entry-level role in laboratory operations, protein bioprocessing, or analytical quality control.
