At Just Energy, I support production SQL Server and Oracle databases behind critical business applications, covering performance tuning, backup, recovery, and application support on a 24x7 on-call rotation.
I'm currently upgrading the SQL Server estate from 2019 to 2025, using Query Store to test query performance before and after each instance moves. I also administer Azure SQL Managed Instance and Azure SQL Database, and am deploying CIS security checklists across SQL Servers.
At Just Energy, I moved from hands-on production support into database architecture and team lead work. I assign and review work for onsite and offshore DBAs, mentor junior staff, and handle Kerberos issues including SPN registration and testing.
Earlier, I migrated SSRS, Sybase, and Oracle workloads to newer SQL Server releases at John Hancock Financial Services, and migrated SQL Server databases and DTS workloads at PepsiCo. At LexisNexis, I trained Oracle DBAs to support SQL Server and recovered databases for a Tier-1 application during DR exercises.
