Armando Villa
@armandovilla
Senior Embedded Software Engineer specializing in embedded Linux and automotive IoT software architecture.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Senior Embedded Software Engineer with 12+ years of experience in automotive and IoT domains, including embedded Linux-based platforms. I design maintainable and reusable embedded software that’s adopted across Software, Testing, and CI teams. I build architectures that stay aligned with customer needs, from concept through production.
At Continental Automotive, I develop and maintain embedded automotive software in ANSI C and Embedded Linux, working across low-level layers and system integration. I’ve led hardware bring-up and integration for cellular/IoT connectivity, Bluetooth, Ethernet, audio, and peripherals, including Device Tree configuration and user device driver implementation. I also implemented telematics, TPMS, body control, and production/dealership flashing solutions, architecting wireless flashing systems (BLE, RF/LF) for manufacturing and in-field updates.
I focus on end-to-end engineering practices—defining requirements with UML (system, sequence, state, use cases) using IBM DOORS and Microsoft Visio, then translating them into robust software services and process strategy. I enhanced CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub, WSL, Docker, Python/Bash automation) to improve regression workflows and production deliveries, and I resolve critical field issues with structured RCA while reporting to internal and customer stakeholders. I also mentor engineers and drive software best practices to help teams ship reliably.
