My work explores how visual perception can turn mathematical patterns into images that surprise. I create moiré patterns with hidden images, stereograms, animations, and optical illusions, and I presented my peer-reviewed paper “Visualizing Plane Transformations through Moiré Amplification” and exhibited artwork at Bridges 2026.
I designed and produced “La Isla del Capitán,” an immersive virtual reality museum featuring dynamic mathematical patterns and interactive 3D visualizations. I also create freely accessible web applications for experimenting with moiré, stereograms, and animation, and have taught undergraduate students and developed outreach materials for broad audiences.
