What I'm looking for
I am a legal practitioner with 9+ years of experience spanning legal and regulatory compliance, due diligence, dispute resolution, and legal review and drafting. I understand the local regulatory environment and focus on practical, business-aligned legal strategies that help resolve technical issues while supporting corporate goals. I am consistently ready to learn and open to career furthering opportunities.
As a Registrar I at the High Court of the F.C.T (Jan 2025–Date), I handle filing and processing of court documents, manage court records, assist with case management, and provide legal guidance to registry staff. I ensure compliance with court rules and procedures and support court administration by handling matters related to registry operations. Previously, as an Associate at Precious Obi & Associates (Dec 2017–Apr 2019), I drafted and reviewed contracts and transaction documents including conveyances, deeds, and lease agreements, and represented clients in negotiations with regulators, external counsel, and public authorities.
My work has also included rigorous legal research and strategy development for presentations of cases, conducting due diligence and developing due diligence reports, and attending relevant registries to process title documents and obtain Letters of Probate or Letters of Administration. I drafted court processes for Trial and Appellate Courts, including Briefs of Argument (Appellant, Respondent and Reply), Final Written Addresses, and Reply on Points of Laws, while studying rules and procedure across appellate courts, High Courts, Federal High Court, and Specialized Courts. Through my pupil counsel/NYSC and legal intern/extern roles, I built strong case management and litigation exposure across civil litigation, criminal litigation, matrimonial cases, and ADR, along with office management, communication, and document review strengths.
