Alex Hastings
@alexhastings
I build Python models and RAG pipelines to turn complex data into clear, practical insights.
What I'm looking for
At Catalyst Edge AI, I designed and implemented scalable Python retrieval-augmented generation pipelines to improve enterprise LLM information retrieval, supported by structured benchmarking, statistical analysis, and technical reporting for non-specialist stakeholders.
My mathematics dissertation, “Flow Through Collapsible Channels,” modelled Kelvin–Helmholtz instabilities at fluid–fluid interfaces. I built dispersion-relation solvers with NumPy and SciPy, identified stability regions and growth rates, and created Matplotlib visualisations linking PDE theory to physiological applications such as airflow in the lungs.
I bring first-class mathematics and statistics training alongside experience with Python, R, MATLAB, SQL, Git, Bayesian modelling, and numerical simulation. I also enjoy communicating analytical ideas clearly, from one-to-one mathematics tutoring to collaborative technical reporting.
