Alex Fokhel

I’m an Android developer with 6 years of Android TV development experience, focused on building real-world software that runs in constrained, system-level environments. I’ve worked on AdTech software for pre-installation on a proprietary AOSP TV firmware, operating at the system signature level for system privileges.

In my current work, I build and maintain integrated pipelines with agents for boilerplate generation and other development tasks. I optimized the time-to-ad display (from 0.5s down to 0.1s), designed analytics with Countly, set up local database storage, and supported scheduled backend delivery based on remote load balancing configuration via REST.

I plan and drive implementation with a business lens—understanding “how and why business exists” and translating that into engineering decisions. I also write Bash scripts for software installation on devices via ADB, including automated permission granting and activation of required functionality.

Previously, I led a major migration at Performance Group: moving 3 existing applications from React to a native stack and, after 4 months, integrating them with a new backend while redesigning the architecture for future scaling. Earlier, at Geksakon and CineGation, I built Kotlin Android apps using clean architecture approaches—covering Compose UIs, backend-driven interfaces, CI/CD pipelines, media and payment integrations (including YooKassa and HeadHunter API), and performance-focused Android UI work like RecyclerView optimization, caching, and pagination.
