Alex Florea

I’m a Computer Science graduate and current Master’s student in Internet Technologies, with a strong foundation in C++, C, and Python across web, desktop, and cloud environments. I enjoy turning complex ideas into practical software that performs well and is easy to evolve.

In my work and projects, I focus on building end-to-end systems—like indexing presentation videos by extracting key frames, transcribing audio with Whisper, and storing multimodal vector embeddings in PostgreSQL/pgvector. I also built LLM-powered routing and retrieval pipelines, benchmarking multiple retrieval architectures to choose the best configuration.

I like collaborative problem-solving, and I actively participate in teaching by supporting the “Formal Languages and Compilation” course through laboratory guidance. I’m comfortable working with multi-agent designs using LangGraph/LangChain and validating RAG accuracy with RAGAS and local LLMs.

As a Software Engineering (Intern), I built TalkToSlides end-to-end and worked closely with an engineering team through feedback sessions and technical discussions to align architecture decisions and refine requirements. I’m motivated by continuous learning and by delivering efficient, impactful solutions in team-oriented environments.
