Aina Ann Mathew

I’m a Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering graduate from Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering, with a strong foundation in process engineering and molecular biology. I’m motivated by the idea of turning technical knowledge into real-world outcomes through hands-on laboratory research and industrial practice.

During my Summer Internship at The Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Limited, I observed petrochemical operations including the Hyam and Lactum plants, while gaining familiarity with equipment and analytical techniques in R&D laboratories. I also strengthened my process understanding through an Industrial Visit at Akay Natural Ingredients Private Limited, where I analyzed food color manufacturing processes and observed nutraceutical ingredient and spice extraction.

My final-year work includes a Development of a Synbiotic Snack Bar, where I optimized biochemical composition to improve nutritional and probiotic value, presented the methodology and findings at Equilibria 2026, and earned Second Prize at Chemcon 2025. I’ve also built a simulation and modeling approach for pyrolysis reactor design to support sustainable municipal solid waste management, using thermodynamic parameters and reaction kinetics to optimize bio-energy conversion.
