I’m an Authorized Child Protection Worker (Advice and Assessment) with extensive experience supporting children, youth, and families through high-risk assessments, crisis intervention, and safety planning. I’m grounded in anti-oppressive and trauma-informed practices, with a focus on procedural fairness and compliance with ministry policies.
In my current role, I investigate complex child protection and family concerns—including sexual violence, neglect, intimate partner violence, physical abuse, and mental health concerns—while conducting interviews, intake assessments, and risk assessments that account for family identity. I develop plans that include goals, placement, and appropriate resources, and I maintain confidential case files while providing formal updates and liaising with law enforcement, social workers, and legal professionals.
Previously, I provided direct counselling and coordinated family-centred care across psychiatric, eating disorder, substance abuse, neurology, oncology, pediatrics, and emergency units. I also led program work in Maternal Infant Mental Health, delivered evidence-based parenting psycho-educational workshops, conducted developmental screenings and one-to-one counselling, and supervised a team of four Wraparound Caseworkers.
