Adelina Kormos

I’m an Android senior software engineer with 15+ years in IT, delivering projects ranging from highly visible consumer apps to specialized products. I’m known for adapting quickly to market changes and user needs, while keeping engineering standards high.

Since 2023, my main contribution has been Youll, a platform helping brands and communities launch tailored native mobile applications. I focus on building and evolving a maintainable Android foundation, using modularization and Clean Architecture patterns (MVVM) for apps with subscriptions and on-demand content, supported by robust development practices.

One of my standout projects was the what3words Android app, where I piloted a major architecture refactor toward MVVM. I integrated multiple map providers (Google Maps, Mapbox, AMap) and modularized their implementations to make swapping providers easier, while coordinating a team of three Android developers, mentoring juniors, and working closely with Product and UX to define the best technical solutions.

Earlier, at Garmin, I developed mobile navigation apps (from Navigon Mobile Navigator to Garmin Viago), collaborating tightly with iOS, Backend, Product, and Design for a consistent end-to-end platform experience. I contributed to GraphQL (Apollo) and REST integration, improved reliability through code reviews and debugging, and supported continuous integration and delivery via Bitbucket Pipelines.
