What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a healthcare setting where I can provide respectful personal care and vital support, while also delivering counselling and HIV psychosocial assistance. I want a busy team environment that values dignity, compassion, and strong record-keeping.

I am a very friendly, caring and approachable qualified Health Care Assistant with a background in HIV/AIDS Management and a certificate in Psychosocial Counseling. Over 5 years of experience in counselling has shaped my passion for supporting adults and children affected by HIV, disability, and vulnerability.

I recently acquired a certificate (Nursing Care Assistant), where I was trained in providing excellent personal care with respect, understanding, and maintaining the dignity of sick patients. I gained experience in hospital wards with vital signs, bed making, patient positioning, wound-dressing, and caring for terminally ill patients. I also supported HIV Management including pre and post-testing and index/testing.

I have volunteered as a Health Care-giver at a hospice and earlier worked as a counselor and HIV Trainer at an orphan home. My responsibilities included counselling individuals and groups such as orphans, prisoners, the aged, and parents affected with Gender Based Violence, including preparation for VCT across different sectors. I am confident in group and individual counselling, with strong classroom management and the ability to infuse positive attitude in children for academic studies.

I also completed basic first aid training under Zambia Red-Cross Society, learning CPR and recovery position methods, as well as how to move a casualty from unsafe to safe place, treat wounds, bleeding, and fractures/dislocations. I bring empathy, strong listening, and adaptability, and I’m ready to deliver respectful care while supporting patients and families through both medical and psychosocial needs.
