Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and strategic Youth Advocacy Manager to lead our efforts in empowering young voices and driving systemic change. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing advocacy strategies that amplify the concerns and needs of youth across various platforms, ensuring their perspectives are represented in policy-making and community initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive advocacy campaigns that engage youth and stakeholders in meaningful dialogue.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies to advance youth-centric policies.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify key issues affecting youth and leverage data to inform advocacy strategies.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions to equip youth with advocacy skills and knowledge.
- Serve as a spokesperson for youth issues, representing the organization at public forums, conferences, and media engagements.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of advocacy initiatives and adjust strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in advocacy, public policy, or a related field, with a focus on youth issues.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful advocacy campaigns.
- Strong understanding of the legislative process and experience working with policymakers.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
Preferred:
- Experience working directly with youth or youth organizations.
- Master's degree in public policy, social work, or a related field.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and methodologies.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using digital advocacy tools and social media platforms to engage and mobilize youth.
- Experience with project management software to track advocacy initiatives and outcomes.
- Knowledge of research methodologies to assess youth needs and advocacy impact.
