Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Wire Technician to join our innovative engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive experience in wire harness assembly and management to lead projects that enhance our product reliability and performance. You will oversee the entire lifecycle of wire preparation, assembly, and testing, ensuring that our standards for quality and safety are met and exceeded.
Responsibilities
- Lead and train a team of wire technicians in best practices for wire harness assembly, testing, and quality assurance.
- Design and implement assembly processes that optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
- Conduct thorough inspections of wire assemblies, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and refine specifications, schematics, and technical documentation for wire harnesses.
- Utilize advanced testing equipment to troubleshoot and resolve issues in wire assemblies and provide technical support.
- Maintain accurate records of production and inspections, and recommend improvements based on data analysis.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in wire harness assembly and testing with a strong understanding of electrical systems.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop junior technicians.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety standards and quality assurance practices related to wire assembly.
- Experience with schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Preferred:
- Experience in the aerospace or automotive industries.
- Certification in IPC/WHMA-A-620 or equivalent.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of wire harness design and assembly processes.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and testing equipment, including multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Familiarity with CAD software for creating and interpreting wire harness designs.
