Role Overview
We are seeking a Utility Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in the design, implementation, and management of utility infrastructure projects. In this role, you will drive strategic initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, while fostering innovation and efficiency within our operations. Your leadership will be pivotal in overseeing project execution, resource allocation, and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians in the planning, design, and execution of utility projects
- Develop and implement engineering standards and best practices to ensure quality and compliance across all projects
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including project management, operations, and regulatory compliance, to ensure project objectives are met
- Conduct regular assessments of utility infrastructure to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization
- Oversee budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation for all engineering projects
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical) or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in utility engineering or related projects
- Proven track record of successful project management and team leadership
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and safety standards in the utility sector
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Experience with renewable energy projects and innovations in utility infrastructure
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS, ETAP)
- Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making
