Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Tool Crib Manager to oversee the management and distribution of tools and equipment within our operations. This role is essential in ensuring that all tools are available, organized, and maintained to support our production and engineering teams effectively.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize tool availability and reduce downtime across departments.
- Establish and enforce best practices for tool storage, maintenance, and tracking to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to forecast tool requirements based on project scopes and timelines.
- Conduct regular audits of tool inventory to identify discrepancies, manage tool lifecycle, and facilitate the procurement of new tools as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of tool usage, maintenance schedules, and repair histories to improve operational efficiency.
- Provide training and support to team members on tool handling, safety practices, and inventory systems.
- Lead equipment disposal initiatives in accordance with company policies and sustainability goals.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in tool management, inventory control, or a related field.
- Proven track record of implementing efficient inventory management processes and procedures.
- Strong understanding of tool maintenance and safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
