Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cable Splicing Supervisor to lead our cable splicing team. In this role, you will oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic and copper cables, ensuring high-quality standards and safety protocols are met. You will be responsible for coordinating splicing operations, mentoring team members, and collaborating with project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the cable splicing team, ensuring efficient execution of splicing operations
- Plan and coordinate daily splicing activities, allocating resources effectively to meet project timelines
- Conduct thorough inspections of splicing work to guarantee compliance with industry standards and specifications
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members on best practices and safety protocols
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to assess project requirements and develop effective splicing strategies
- Maintain accurate records of splicing activities, materials used, and work completed for project documentation and reporting
- Respond to and resolve on-site issues related to cable splicing, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in cable splicing, with a strong background in both fiber optic and copper cable types
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role, with the ability to manage a team effectively
- In-depth knowledge of splicing techniques, tools, and industry standards
Preferred:
- Certification in fiber optics or related field
- Experience with project management and coordination
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in cable installation and maintenance
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using splicing tools and equipment, including fusion splicers and OTDRs
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience with network testing and troubleshooting methodologies
