Role Overview
We are seeking a Telecommunications Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in designing and implementing advanced telecommunications systems. In this role, you'll leverage your expertise to oversee complex projects, ensuring that our network architecture meets both current and future business needs while adhering to industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of telecommunications engineers, promoting professional development and best practices in design and implementation
- Oversee the planning, design, and optimization of telecommunications networks, ensuring reliability and scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, scope, and timelines for telecommunications initiatives
- Monitor project progress, managing budgets, resources, and schedules to meet organizational goals
- Establish and enforce engineering standards and practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- Act as a key liaison between technical teams and executive leadership to communicate project status and technical challenges
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in telecommunications engineering, with a focus on network design and management
- Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing large-scale telecommunications projects
- Strong understanding of telecommunications technologies, including VoIP, MPLS, and fiber optics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make strategic decisions under pressure
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a related field
- Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV)
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CCNP, or equivalent
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep knowledge of telecommunications systems and protocols, including TCP/IP, SIP, and BGP
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and performance management solutions
- Experience with project management software and collaboration tools
