Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Broadcast Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in the design, implementation, and maintenance of broadcast systems. This pivotal role will oversee all technical aspects of broadcast operations, ensuring high-quality signal integrity and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the broadcast engineering team, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure high levels of technical performance and innovation.
- Oversee the design and deployment of broadcast systems, including RF transmission, video/audio processing, and studio operations.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and protocols to ensure optimal performance of broadcast equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and integrate new technologies that enhance broadcast capabilities and efficiency.
- Manage budgetary allocations for engineering projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with FCC regulations and other industry standards related to broadcast transmission and equipment.
- Provide technical support during live broadcasts and troubleshoot any issues that arise in real-time.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Broadcast Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in broadcast engineering, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of broadcast transmission technologies, including but not limited to ATSC, DVB, and IPTV.
- Experience with studio operations and digital video/audio routing.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies such as IP-based broadcasting and cloud broadcasting solutions.
- Experience in a regulatory compliance role within the broadcast industry.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep expertise in broadcast transmission systems, including RF and digital signal processing.
- Proficiency in computer networking, with an emphasis on video/audio transport protocols.
- Experience with broadcast automation systems and asset management technologies.
