Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Broadcast Operations Manager to oversee the end-to-end broadcast operations for our dynamic media organization. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the seamless execution of live and recorded broadcasts, driving operational excellence while implementing innovative processes to enhance our broadcast capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of broadcast engineering and production teams, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to quality standards.
- Develop and implement efficient workflows for live and recorded broadcasts, coordinating with multiple departments to ensure timely delivery and execution.
- Manage and maintain broadcast infrastructure, including hardware and software systems, ensuring reliability and performance to meet operational demands.
- Oversee troubleshooting and technical support during live broadcasts, managing crisis situations with composure and efficiency.
- Establish and enforce best practices in broadcast operations, including compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with content creators and producers to understand production needs and translate them into operational requirements.
- Mentor and train team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the broadcast team.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in broadcast operations or a related field, with a proven track record of managing live production environments.
- Strong understanding of broadcast technologies, including video/audio editing, transmission systems, and network infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in troubleshooting technical issues under pressure, with a focus on maintaining broadcast continuity.
Preferred:
- Experience with high-definition broadcasting and emerging technologies such as IP-based workflows and cloud-based broadcasting solutions.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance in broadcasting, including FCC guidelines and copyright laws.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep expertise in broadcast equipment and software, including digital video switchers, signal routing, and encoding/decoding technologies.
- Familiarity with automation systems and media asset management tools.
- Understanding of video compression standards and delivery protocols.
