Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Sunday School Teacher Aide to support our educational mission by assisting lead teachers in delivering engaging and meaningful religious education to children. This role is pivotal in fostering a nurturing learning environment where students can explore their faith and develop spiritually.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in preparing lesson materials and activities that align with the curriculum
- Support the classroom management by helping to maintain a positive and respectful learning atmosphere
- Engage with students during lessons, providing guidance and encouragement
- Help with the organization and setup of classroom resources and supplies
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and activities
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework in education, theology, or child development is a plus
- Experience working with children in an educational or religious setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and parents
Preferred:
- Associate's degree or higher in education, theology, or a related field
- Previous experience as a teacher aide or volunteer in Sunday School or similar programs
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Familiarity with online teaching platforms and educational technology tools
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace for lesson planning and communication
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
- Compassionate and patient demeanor, with a genuine interest in nurturing children's spiritual growth
- Ability to adapt to various teaching styles and classroom situations
