Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Structural Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your extensive knowledge of structural engineering principles to oversee the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the integrity and safety of structures, while also mentoring junior technicians and collaborating with engineers and project managers to drive project success.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of detailed structural drawings, schematics, and models using advanced CAD software and BIM technologies
- Collaborate closely with structural engineers to analyze project requirements and provide innovative solutions
- Conduct field surveys and inspections to assess existing conditions and provide recommendations for structural improvements
- Mentor and train junior technicians on best practices in structural design and analysis
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations throughout all phases of project execution
- Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring quality and accuracy in all engineering documentation
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in structural engineering or a related field
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or RISA
- Strong understanding of building codes, materials, and construction methods
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Experience in managing and mentoring a team of engineering technicians
- Familiarity with project management software and methodologies
- Certification as a CAD Technician or equivalent
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering design software
- Experience with structural analysis software and tools
- Strong understanding of geotechnical principles and their application in structural design
