Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Steel Tier Supervisor to oversee and enhance the operational efficiency of our steel production processes. This pivotal role will involve managing a team of skilled workers, ensuring quality standards, and implementing best practices to optimize productivity while maintaining safety and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of steel production staff, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Implement and monitor production schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality assessments of production processes and outputs.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient workflow and resolve any production-related issues.
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards within the production area.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance skill sets and operational effectiveness.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in steel production or manufacturing, with a focus on supervisory roles.
- Proven track record of successfully managing teams and implementing production best practices.
- Strong understanding of steel manufacturing processes and quality control methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Preferred:
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with production management software and ERP systems.
- Relevant certifications in safety or quality management (e.g., OSHA, ISO).
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in the use of production management software and tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret production data and metrics.
