Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Rod Buster Superintendent to manage and oversee the reinforcing steel installation on construction projects. In this leadership role, you will ensure the application of industry best practices, maintain safety and quality standards, and drive efficiency and productivity among the crew.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of rod busters, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards
- Coordinate with project managers and other trades to establish work schedules and resource allocation
- Review engineering plans and specifications to ensure accurate implementation of rebar installation
- Monitor project progress, identifying and resolving potential issues proactively
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations
- Provide technical guidance and support in reinforcing steel fabrication and installation
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date
- Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages continuous improvement and professional development
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in reinforcing steel installation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Deep understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
Preferred:
- Experience with large-scale commercial or industrial projects
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with crew members, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in rebar detailing software or related construction management tools
- Familiarity with project management software for tracking project progress and managing resources
- Understanding of structural engineering principles and practices
