Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Supervisor to lead our team in overseeing the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery on site. You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations while optimizing equipment performance and crew productivity.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of heavy equipment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and industry standards
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks on equipment, coordinating repairs and servicing as needed
- Lead and mentor a team of operators, providing training and guidance to enhance their skills and performance
- Collaborate with project managers to develop and implement project schedules and resource allocation
- Monitor equipment usage and performance metrics, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding heavy equipment operation
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy equipment operation with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity
- Proven knowledge of heavy machinery types, their operation, and maintenance requirements
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in heavy equipment operation
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team
Preferred:
- Experience in project management or construction management
- CERTIFICATIONS such as OSHA, NCCCO, or equivalent heavy equipment operator certification
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in operating various heavy machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, and cranes
- Familiarity with maintenance management software and equipment tracking systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
