Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic Lead Special Education Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs in collaboration with classroom teachers and special education staff.
- Assist in delivering tailored instructional support and interventions to enhance students’ learning experiences and outcomes.
- Facilitate adaptive learning strategies that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents regarding each student's development and needs.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters social-emotional development.
- Train and mentor junior teaching assistants, sharing best practices and strategies for supporting special education students.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a relevant field.
- 3+ years of experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
Preferred:
- Experience leading teams or mentoring peers in a classroom setting.
- Certification in special education or related areas is a plus.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive learning tools.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using educational software and digital tools to support learning for students with special needs.
- Ability to analyze student data to inform instructional decisions and interventions.
- Experience with behavior management techniques and individualized support strategies.
