Role Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Soil Fertility Extension Specialist to join our dedicated team focused on advancing agricultural practices through research-based education. This role is critical in providing technical assistance and outreach to farmers, agronomists, and landowners, enhancing soil fertility management and crop production systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and delivery of educational programs on soil fertility management best practices
- Conduct field demonstrations and trials to evaluate soil amendments and fertility practices
- Provide technical support to extension agents and stakeholders in soil testing and interpretation of results
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design research projects addressing soil fertility challenges
- Engage with community stakeholders to promote sustainable agricultural practices and resources
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, educational materials, and outreach resources
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of soil fertility principles and agricultural systems
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
- Experience in conducting field research or extension work preferred
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Familiarity with soil testing methods and soil amendment recommendations
- Experience with agricultural outreach or education programs
