Role Overview
We are looking for a knowledgeable and dynamic Extension Program Manager specializing in Soil Fertility to lead our initiatives in promoting sustainable agricultural practices. This role requires a deep understanding of soil science and fertility management, coupled with strong program management skills to drive impactful outreach and educational programs.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate extension programs focused on soil fertility, ensuring alignment with the latest research and best practices in sustainable agriculture.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify knowledge gaps and tailor educational materials and programs that effectively address the needs of farmers and agricultural stakeholders.
- Collaborate with agricultural professionals, researchers, and community organizations to foster partnerships that enhance program impact and reach.
- Lead workshops, seminars, and field demonstrations to educate stakeholders on soil health, fertility management techniques, and innovative agricultural practices.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to assess program effectiveness and adapt strategies for continuous improvement.
- Stay current with advancements in soil science and related fields, integrating new knowledge into program development.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, Agriculture Extension, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in agricultural extension, program management, or a related area focused on soil fertility.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver educational programming tailored to diverse audiences.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Experience with sustainable agriculture practices and regenerative farming techniques.
- Familiarity with grant writing and funding acquisition for extension programs.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and present findings to diverse audiences.
