Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Sewage Plant Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our wastewater treatment facilities. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations while maintaining the highest standards of quality in wastewater treatment processes. You will lead a team of engineers and operators, implementing innovative solutions to optimize plant performance and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the sewage treatment plant, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of plant equipment, including pumps, aerators, and clarifiers, to ensure optimal functionality.
- Develop and implement operational protocols and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
- Monitor plant performance metrics and prepare reports for regulatory agencies and management.
- Lead, mentor, and develop staff in technical skills and safety protocols, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with local government and environmental agencies to ensure adherence to waste management policies.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in wastewater treatment operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Proven track record of successfully managing projects and leading teams.
Preferred:
- Advanced certification in wastewater treatment management (e.g., Grade II or higher).
- Experience with process optimization and innovative wastewater treatment technologies.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and data management software.
